Remembering X10

I had the Fujifilm X10 for about a year before the launch of XPro-1 and followed by the
other wonderful X-series that came along. So yesterday I decided to take it out; clean it and
take for a spin. It didn’t work! Battery is flat. Now you know how long its been since I touch
the X10.

Its been awhile( maybe 2 years!) and holding this well built camera bring sweet memories of
when and why I brought this camera. I could still remember selling my Ricoh’s GX100 to
fund the new X10. So that I could capture my few month’s old daughter.

What I like about the X10; a 28-112mm zoom from F2-2.8 for my everyday need. PSAM
for the control the control freak that I am. I love how one need to turn the lens to switch the
camera on. Lastly its the great Fujifilm retro design that won my heart over. Even its 4 years
old now; I still think it looks great.

In 2013, at the 6th Annual Master Cup; I submitted a photo shot with the X10. I was trill that
this picture received a nominee under the Abstract category for the professional class.
Small as it may be but it still give a good punch!

  1. Never had the X10, but got an X20 which I replaced with an X30. I bought the X20 because I was tired taking my Nikon D every 2nd week on the airplane on my traveling. The Fuji though was perfect for it. And then came the first shots. I was so overwhelmed by it’s quality and sharpness that I hardly took out the Nikon ever since … In the near future I’ll probably replace the Nikon by an X-T1.

  2. I love my little quiet X30 with the tilt screen and the EVF for when I shoot dark theaters and cannot use the rear screen. I carry it on EVERY business trip and love the sharp little 12 MP RAW files. Best thing about it over my X-M1? Leaf shutter sync to 1/4000s, can really make that little popup flash sing in shade and holds its own in harsh daylight.
