Not all product launches are made equal. We were invited by Fujifilm Singaporefor X-M5 launch along side with many other KOLs. It’s more like a retreat for us X-photographers.And please don’t be jealous as we are all staying at One&Only resort at Desaruin Malaysia. Set on a 128 acre estate, this is One&Only group’s first Asia property.I am an Amanjunkies and I have not been to One&Only property; so I am pretty excited. The blend of photography, nature, and luxury is definitely something special. A perfect backdrop for both creative inspiration and relaxation. What more could one ask? Maybe a launch at a Aman resort.

One hour and forty minutes ferry ride from Singapore and another five minutes on the road brings us to this little heaven on earth. After putting our luggages; we headed to our first activity. Jungle cruise, is a fantastic way to connect with the local environment. Mangroves are so crucial to coastal ecosystems, and it’s great that the trip included that educational component. I am certain all the KOLs must have gotten some amazing shots with the X-M5 too!

After lunch at Ember, the resort’s swanky beach club, the KOLs was usher to attend a workshop on Fujifilm Film Simulation. As for us the X-photographers, we are task to chill.yay! Time to explore the grounds of One & Only resort. I love the main pool area. Breathtaking. This property is deigns by Kerry Hill architect whom have also design many Aman properties. Amanjunkies will recognise, amidst the swathes of stone, linear perspectives and dense forest landscaping, a familiar layout of cascading terraces and pools that lead to a forest frame view of South China Sea.In the evening we had our dinner at a Instagram worthy venue. Yard & CO. We manage to catch a glimpse of final minutes of the sunset by the seaside.

After a restful night, I started the morning early photowalk my my fellow X-photographer Benny Ang. Here are some shots to share. All photos in this blog post are taken with X100VI and a lovely @Squarehood with a 10% haze filter attached. This is probably the best looking hood for any X100 series camera.

The X-M5 launch is house at the largest villa at One&Only. By 1030am all the guest were usher to the lawn that faces the South China Sea. The venue is so lovely and romantic. I guess I could proudly say that this is the most romantic camera launch that I ever attended. Makes me think of my own wedding solemnisation at Amankila some 2 decades ago. The event kicked off with a quick introduction by Mr. Leung, the General Manager of Fujifilm Singapore, followed by Mr. C.K., the Product Specialist from Fujifilm Malaysia, who shared the key specifications of the X-M5 with all the guests. Next, we heard from Fujifilm Singapore’s X-Creator, Qi Rong, who shared his positive experiences with the X-M5, highlighting its strengths. The highlight of the day was a workshop conducted by YouTuber ZY Cheng, who dove into the video capabilities of the X-M5. He demonstrated how this new XF camera can enhance workflows for social media creators—an informative and valuable session that I personally learned a lot from.

The launch concluded with a delightful lunch at the villa’s beautiful grounds, offering the perfect setting to catch up with old friends and make new connections. As the saying goes, “All good things must come to an end,” but I’m certain this won’t be the last time I have the pleasure of attending such an amazing experience. A heartfelt thank you to Fujifilm Singapore for hosting this memorable event. I look forward to the next one!
