X-T1 + XF23mm

Its was about 4 something in the late afternoon that my wife received a call from our friend; Betty.
Betty asked if we were keen to go down to OCBC Aquatic Centre to watch the swimming competition.
As parents I am certainly not sure if my 4 years old daughter will sit through the 2 hour event.
After explaining to her; she is keen and feeling excited and shouting SINGAPORE! SINGAPORE!
I think Singapore swimming team may have another supporter now. I just hope she will not be bored
and say I wanna go now!
Its my first time at the new swanky OCBC Aquatic Centre. Its filled with a lots of excitement. My gear
for my 1st virgin swimming photography session; X-T1, XF14mm, XF 23mm and Fuji XF 600mm. I wish!
600mm! Rather its the XF 50-140mm WR.
We were seated on the second last row. Way up. Should have gotten the 55-200mm instead.
The frist race was the Women’s 200m Butterfly. With 2 Singaporean in the finals. Quah Ting Wen and
Tan Jing-E. Singapore didn’t manage to secure a gold as it was won by Vietnam’s golden girl;
LE Thi My. Quah Ting Wen did mange a silver. Well done Quah Ting Wen!

Next, Men’s 100m butterfly finals. Singapore’s golden boy; Joseph Schooling is in lane 4. As you
could see, he actually had a slow start. From the picture he looks like the last to hit the water.
By the 75m mark Schooling is leading by half a body length to his closest competitor. He continue
to lead towards the last 25m and took him home a another Gold for Singapore.

At this point; my daughter, Summer. Decided that she wanna go home because she says it boring.
And that also ended my 17 minutes career in sport photography!
