Celebrating Colors Photo competition comes to a closed yesterday. This competition is organised by Cathay Photo and EIZO Apac for Singapore based photographers.
We have received a couple of hundreds of colourful submissions. As an Eizo ambassador I had opportunity to judge together with Charmaine Toh from Cathay Photo (https://www.instagram.com/cathayphoto/) and Matthew Bauer, founder and CEO of EIZO Apac. (https://www.instagram.com/eizo_apac/) The judging process have always been difficult; as everyone have a different views when it comes to work of art. After many hours of viewing the submissions and a couple gently disagreement between us; which thankfully didn’t end this friendship. We and happy to announced the 7 finalists and top 3 winners. The top prize is a trip to Tokyo and a EIZO factory visit to see how these amazing monitors are made at Kanazawa. ( Maybe someday I could have the opportunity to visit too. Big hint to EIZO)
Sharing some photos from the prize presentation which was held at Cathay Photo. I also had an opportunity to conducted a sharing session too. This venue at Cathay Photo will always leave a deep foot print in my heart. Close to 30 years ago; I took a $10,000 loan from my dearest mother to buy my first Mamiya medium format camera as I took a leap of faith into the wonderful world of commercial photography. And the Cathay Photo sales staff that sold me the Mamiya is still working happily at Cathay Photo today. How cool is that? I am certain this is a reflection of a great camera store.
Lastly; congratulation to all the 10 winners.
