About a month ago I contacted Keitaro So of Fujifilm to pitch an idea to him.
I told him that a Singapore Fuji Fanboy, Ringo Chong will be racing at the 2019 Blancpain GT World Challenge. This GT races kicks off the season in Sepang International Circuit, Malaysia. Followed by Chang in Thailand, Suzuka and Fuji Speedway in Japan, Korea and ending 2019 season in Shanghai China.

One thing lead to another, So San manage ink a deal to collaborate with Ringo Chong. I will conduct 2 session of Motorsports Workshop over the race weekend. Here the participants will have guided excess to the iRACE.WIN garage, the grid walk, close encounter with the race team and most importantly to support a fellow race driver and Fuji Fanboy.
We had about 40 plus participant over the weekend. This is not possible without the support of Fujifilm staff from Malaysia. In fact on top of all the XF50-140mm and XF100-400mm lenses; they also brought not one; not two but three XF200mm F2 lenses for the participant to test this monster lens. I can’t think of a better place to bring this lens to.

Don’t you think this is the coolest Fujifilm polo? Each participant received one at the workshop.A shot of my media vest with Ringo Chong.
What is Motorsports without race queen? We manage to have a location shoot at the paddock roof top with four lovely Fujifilm Race Queen. Broncolor lights were set-up for participant to have a go at location photography. Thank you Broncolor Singapore for coming up to Sepang to support with the best light in the industry.

I remembered sharing with all the participants that Motorsports is not just about photographing race cars. There are many other opportunities to photograph; the race team at work, the preparation, the set-up, the track side, the race queens, the other competitors, the emotion of the winning team, the fans, the podium and also the losing team. Every moment is a photo opportunity.

Ringo Chong finishes 3rd in both round 1 and 2 in the GT4 Class. What a great start to the season and I am sure many more Fuji Fanboys around the world will be supporting him. Ringo started his journey with a Fujifilm X-T1, X70, and now a X-T100 for race Vlogging and a X-T3. Do follow his IG https://www.instagram.com/ringochong11/ and also i.RACE.WIN at
