Singapore; also known as the Garden City has a new name. At least for
the last one month or so. Welcome to Haze City.
Due to the forest fire from Indonesia both Singapore and Malaysia have
been experiencing poor air quality. These is even more evident with children
and the elderly. Most would have suffered some form of teary eyes, sore
throat or respiratory problem.

Many business have been effected. Especially those business that is base
outdoor or F&B establishment that have alfresco set-up. I guess the only
business that improves in this hazy condition are the company selling
air purifier and N95 mask.
One day in September the air quality climb into the hazardous range.
Schools have to be shut down for a day. I believed the government of
Singapore did the right thing; but there was also other problems that
entails. Working parents have no choice but to take leave to take care of
their children. Some parents who couldn’t take leave will have to send
their children to school. Thankfully the school are still open but there are
no classes.

It is times like this we long to see blue sky and white clouds that we so
often take for granted. Every other day; my daughter would ask when could
we go to the park or a dip in the pool? Just yesterday; the air quality drop
down to below PSI 100 for the first time in a long time! All the people living
in Singapore rejoice!
Not to missed an opportunity for some good outdoor fun, quickly I brought
my daughter out for a walk about at the Marina Bay Area. Everyone was
happy when there is blue sky and white clouds. And not forgetting the good
quality air again. Everyone enjoying every moment while it last.

As for today we pray that the haze will go away soon. Even though its not the
most comfortable thing to put on your face, do remember to put on your N95
mask before leaving home. Take X-tra care.
Here is a video; all done with a X100T.
