3 times a week. 3 to 5 hours each session. This is how much passion,
discipline and training the members from Wildcards Cheerleading Team
trains. Not forgetting the occasional bruise and pain that comes with training.
Their result definitely shines when I had the privilege to photograph them.
From ground to high up in the air; everything movement, lift and catch is
like German engineering precision! Faultless.

The meeting point was at the Helix bridge along scenic Marina Bay area.
My gears was a X-T1 mounted with the XF10-24mm wide angle lens. The
other camera was the uber cool Fujifilm X100T with a wide angle lens
convertor. Which make a 28mm angle in the 35mm format. The X100T
is paired with a Profoto Air Remote to trigger the Profoto B1 strobe. All
done wirelessly. Thank God for modern technologies. All my gears are pack
in my Ultimate Urban Camera Bag; the Olaf. Those who don’t know what
Olaf is; here is the link. http://fujifanboys.com/2015/08/25/found-ultimate-urban-camera-bag/

I parked my car at the Esplanade. With the Olaf; its just a 2 minutes scoot to
meeting point. Its a whole day’s affair as we needed to photograph the few
“girl flyer” at different location. From Singapore Flyer to Esplanade, the iconic
Merlion to Central business district, Gardens by the Bay to the famous shopping
belt in Singapore; the Orchard road. The Theme; is to shoot the Flyers in different
location that represent Singapore.

Every scene I would used both cameras. For X-T1 the setting is straight forward.
I just set my shooting speed to CH for available light shooting. Eight frame per
second on the X-T1 is indeed an advantage in nailing the shot.
As for X100T its a different ball game. A lot more is required of me. As I am not able
to do multiple shot in flash mode. I wanted to try shooting with a high shutter speed
since the X100 has a leaf shutter. So I feel the X100T its best mated with the Profoto
B1 versus with the X-T1 which have a X-sync of 1/180. The only drawback; I could
only shoot one shot at a time. Which also means; the cheerleader have to do more
lifts! Kudos to all of you!
Like all Fujiista; we all hope that Fujifilm is able to have firmware update soon. Its
will be a joy to have a multiple flash burst mode in all the X-series camera. I believe
all the wedding photographer that is uses the X-series camera will certainly be
delight to have this update.

We ended our shoot along the busy walkway of Orchard road. Would like to shout a
big thank you to all the members of Wildcards Cheerleading Team doing such a
great job; especially after this shoot; they have to rush to a performance elsewhere.
Lastly I would like to also thank Tiong Jin from Fuji club X in Singapore for assisting
during the shoot. Nothing beats a person holding on to the B1. Adjustment is seamless!
Thank you TJ!
