When Dr Hwee Lee ask if I would like to invite some Fujifanboys to shoot fireworks together at the Marina Bay?  I told her why not; especially since I have not shot fireworks before. She was surprise! I was too! LOL. So what took me so long to try? I don’t know; fireworks just doesn’t interest me. 


Long story short; we had Fujifanboys bringing a Phase One XT with IQ4 150( don’t ask me how much it cost!), GFX100 II to X-T1, X-T3 and even a Sony. I guess it’s never about the cameras; rather the gathering of photographers.

With zero experience; I have to quickly absorb advice as much as I could from the veterans. Mixed into what I think is logical. So, being a happy jpeg shooter; I set it to Eterna film simulation. Both highland and shadow tone set to minus -2. Mount the GFX100 II on a lovely Leofoto tripod. Turn off my IBIS, set my interval timer shooting mode on. 2 second exposure with 1 second interval. Which in retrospect; I think 3-4 second would be better. Of cause choosing the right spot is also key. We chose a less crowded/popular spot so that we could have all the luxury of space.
