Say Hello to X100V.

Before I talk about the features and user experience of the new X100V, I would like to invite you to have a look at how the Fujifilm designers takes the X100F which is already so beautiful, and makes the X100V even more desirable. Words cannot describe; I will let the photos do the talking. And please keep your credit card at bay because at the end of this blog post the chances of you being the owner of the new X100V is relatively high. Resistance is futile or now is the best time to leave this page.

So what’s new with X100V? Let’s talk about the size. Only a trained eye could tell there is a little difference. As a whole it’s a tad bigger in many good ways. At this point of writing I don’t have any details except the camera. Quickly, using my daughter’s ruler this is what the size difference when compare with X100F. Height; maybe 1 to 2mm taller. Thickness and length about 2mm more. And the hand grip is a bit beefier and there is also a recess for your thumb area at the rear. In a nutshell the ergonomic has been improved. There is no more D-pad at the rear. The silver color does looks a tad shinier too; in a good way. The overall lines are much straighter.

X100 user either loves or hates the “softness” when shoot wide open at F2. Many needs to stop down to F2.8 to get a sharper shot. X100V now house a new totally new redesign lens. It’s still a 23mm F2 lens. This new lens is sharp even at F2. The next 3 set of photos will explain the differences.  Seeing is believing.

Naturally, many X-shooter will certainly ask the next question. How does this X100V mark II lens fare against the WR XF23mm F2 lens? This is not a scientific test but from the pictures below; XF23mm F2 is winner in this test by a small margin.

So what do you think of the new X100V? I love it. This new lens does makes the X100V even more desirable. It’s more refine in every way. It brings the X100V to a whole new level. Auto Focus speed is much faster. Face recognition feature is a couple of notches up vs its predecessor. My everyday camera just gonna better with a tilt screen. Plus its a WR now! Below are photos taken with X100V spanning across many genre. WCL and TCL convertor lenses were also used in some of the shots.
