XF70-300mm F4-5.6 WR OIS

When I first received this lens; I told Keitaro So from Fujifilm Singapore that I will be using this new lens to shoot anything expect birds. That is because I have never spend enough time or have the luxury of time for birding.
I like this focal length. It has a lot of reach. 70 to 300mm. In 35mm format, its a 105mmto 450mm. I own a 1.4 TC and that stretches it to 630mm at F8. Of course if I have the 2 X TCmy maximum reach will be 900mm; but at F11. Which may not be great for low light condition.
Without any tele-convertor I think the F stop of F4-5.6 is rather acceptable. The AF speed is quick and accurate. This lens is rather light in weight and sharp. OIS comes standard. I think it’s perfect for travel. Not that we could travel anytime soon due to the pandemic. So I have been bringing it along for my daily routine. Below are some non-birding snaps from this lens. I think its a pretty fun lens to use for street too.

Looks pretty handsome with the hood.

My final thoughts. A nice little zoom lens with great reach. There are only 2 things that I don’t fancy. The F-stop and this lens extends out during zoom. Of course its benefit outweighs the 2 thingsthat I just mention. I love this lens for its price, size and reach. Lastly; I mention that I won’t be shooting birds with this lens. Unfortunately; sometime they do fly into my frame.
