Dawn of a new era X-H2

X-H2

The X-H2 design principle is identical to its sibling, X-H2S. Which is a good thing. A slick modern design, great ergonomics and a weather seal body to challenge any elements. But they are different.  The new X-H2 house a new 40MP sensor. This gives the photographer unrivaled image quality and the ability to crop when needed.

Don’t ask me how much this lens cost!

Both auto focus and electronic shutter’s speed have also been improved. I was at the beach on a hot afternoon, I didn’t realize until I saw in more details that I was shooting at a whopping 180,000 of a second in ES. This feature certainly helps when we are shooting with fast Fujifilm prime lenses. As for auto focus, its fast. Many would ask, how is it compare with X-H2S? X-H2s is certainly faster but X-H2 is not very far off.

Not forgetting this camera shoots 8K 30p ProRes HQ and and has a 7 stops IBIS! With all these features making it perfect for creating your next short films. The X-H2 is also able to at shoot 240p for that cinematic slow motion effect when needed.

And for those who loves to shoot products and your secret toy collection, the X-H2 now offers Pixel-Shift. Transforming the shot into a whopping 160 mega pixel file. Also perfect for any mega prints or billboards requirements.

As a commercial photographer I believed the new X-H2 finally satisfy the needs of many photographers.  Setting new standard, the X-H2 has the highest pixel count for any APS-C camera in the market today, thus making this new camera, second to none.

Below are the lenses that will achieve maximum benefit from X-H2’s 40.2 megapixel sensor.

The final question to me is, to S or not to S? 26MP X-H2S or 40MP X-H2? If I were to pick, I think I would go for X-H2. The 40MP sensor is key for my decision, 8K video and 7 stops IBIS certainly helps.
