Today I have a privilege to test drive drive a new lens from the GFX series. This is the new GF20-35mm F4 ultra wide zoom lens. I know, I know; many of you would ask how is this lens compares with the GF23mm F4? Optically how can one compares a zoom lens with a prime lens? All I can say its pretty damn amazing for a zoom lens. Optically good. Size wise; its basically about the same except the GF20-35mm is one lens cap taller than GF23mm. Weight wise; at 745 grams, this lens is lighter than the GF23mm F4. So what is there not to love?

The last few days I taken this lens through its paces and I am truly enjoying the flexibility without compromise. At 35mm this lens could focusing pretty close too. Distortion control is good. Its auto focus is quick and precise. If you are a travel, landscape, fine art, architecture and interior photographer; the GF20-35mm is certainly a mighty contender. I own the GF23mm F4. I am toying with the idea of getting the GF20-35mm F4 as this lens is more versatile. Should I pull the plug?
