Zooming into the Unsung Heroes.

New Dehli; a colorful city that I heard much about but have not been. Until last week I have a golden opportunity. Beautiful, rich and chaotic. Commission by a top India property developer to document a ultra high end condominium. The smallest unit size is almost 6000 square feet. In Singapore I dare not even think how much this would cost.

Its a 5 days project and most of the time I am at the property doing the documentation. Landscape, building, club house, Spa, restaurant, swimming pool, cinema, cafe, pub, security, laundry, etc. Until the last day; together with my assistant Joel. We manage to find a little time and arrange for a taxi at
530am in the morning for a quick tour of a local temple, India gate and the last pit stop; the enchanting Lodhi garden. Its a must for those who love gardens.

This is my story. As we all know; including myself; we all love primes. But today I gonna shine the
spotlight unto these unsung heroes, the zoom lenses. primary, XF 10-24mm, XF 18-55mm; which I
consider the best kit lens in the world and last of the trio the new weather seal XF 50-140mm.

Can I live with just this zoom 3 lenses? Below are some picture taken with this 3 awesome lenses.

  1. hi Ivan, thanks for the pictures. the first portrait with the data F2.8 ISO 6400. Are you sure it’s not shot at ISO 640 ? it’s very sharp shot wide open and at 6400 !

  2. Hi there,

In market to get a telezoom. Thought about the 55-200, but heard the AF speed is not that pleasant. In low light. I am finding it is a bit hard for my XT1+56+23 to focus in low light and heard 55-200 is even worse. What is the AF speed like on the new 50-140? Thanks.
