Gathering of X-MEN.

Its was a gathering of X-Men and and a couple of X-ladies. This morning Fujifilm
Singapore organized a photowalk at the Singapore Botanic Garden( SBG ). SBG
has recently been awarded as a UNESCO world heritage site. So what better place
to have a photowalk other then in this 150 years old tropical paradise. SBG is a star
attraction for both local and tourist alike. On weekend many locals will have a family
picnic and all the kids will definitely love to have their chance to feed the swan or fishes.

Together with my 3 other fabulous X-photographer; William Chua, Benny Ang and Chia
Aik Beng AKA as ABC; we lead a group of fellow X-users and some yet to be X converts
photographers into this lush garden. Its was a good time of interaction with fellow photographers and sharing tips on how to achieve better pictures was the order of the day. Attach with each team was a friendly Fujifilm staff with a bag of 7-10 lenses. At any point if anyone wanna try out new lenses; they are there to let them test it out during this 2 hour photowalk.

To top it up there is also a photo competition. participant will have to select their best 6 photos taken in the 2 hours photowalk. The theme is how best to depict SBG in this 6 photos.

The photowalk ended at the charming Halia Restaurant, where delicious light refreshment
and beverage was served. Definitely a treat after the 2 hours of walk in SBG. Moments alter
the 4 X-photographers took turn to debrief and share their thoughts on today’s photowalk.
It was a great time of sharing and feed back among photographers.

By 2pm I left the lovely tropical paradise to Fort Canning Hotel to conduct a Food Photography workshop. We were given a “glass room” which was a lovely venue. Hotel Fort Canning is an iconic 5-star luxury heritage boutique hotel in the heart of the city.

After a quick set I was waiting for the hotel staff to prepare some local dishes for the Food
Photography Live demo. At the same time the team from Fujifilm Singapore was also busy
setting up a buffet of all the awesome Fujinon lenses and X cameras.

After a quick show of my food folio on the projector I proceed with a simple 2 lights set-up;
sharing from the beginning when the food was serve, to setting up of the lights; power adjustment; and how the food should be place and a bit of food styling. After which the participant had the opportunity to try out for their own.
