Ok, now back to the Macro Apo-Ultron 35mm F2. I have this lens for week; courtesy from the good people of Riceball Singapore. I not a fan of manual focus lens; this is certainly due to my inability to focus and the lack to practice. Looking on the bright side; I have a week to improve on my manual focusing skill. Which I believe I believe have improve.
Before I share my first impression of this lens; let’s have a look at some photos below.

What do you think? Generally speaking, I love how this lens renders. The transition between the point of focus to the background is very pleasing. The glass produces a very natural color reproduction. The aperture rings is clickable at 1/3 stop. I won’t says this is a full-fledged macro lens; as the magnification is 1:2.
The minimum focusing distance is 16.3 cm. This lens is built like a tank. The build quality is good. Weighting at only 265 grams with a filter size of 49mm. The focusing ring as buttery smooth and this is expected of Voigtlander. Another advantage is this manual lens comes with electronic contacts to ensure reliable communication between the lens and camera body. I like this feature. I think all the chinese lens manufacturers should have this feature in their future lenses.
Optically this lens is sharp. No complain at all. As for chromatic abbreviation, is slightly visible onlyat extreme lighting condition. Generally speaking; I like this lens. So what do I dislike? It doesn’t have Auto Focus which nothing can be done. LOL and the other con is the price; USD$629. Having said all this; my manual focusing skill did improved. Hope you like this little blogpost. Cheers.
